NEAREST PUBS

The nearest pub is The Allied on Church Street, round the corner from Exchange.  Alternatively, try  The Forrester’s Arms at Moor Bottom, or Jacob’s Well on the Woodhead Road. Krafty, on Westgate, specialises in craft beers both local and from the classic big breweries, and gins and cocktails.

 

All are within walking distance of the cottage.

 

CAFES

 

There are a number of lovely local cafes in the village including Wired Coffee and Cake on Church Street, the Gallery cafe on Westgate or Loom (located in Dixon Franks on Westgate).  Also, a short drive away at Armitage Bridge, Sons of the North are certainly worth a visit.

RESTAURANTS

 

We would recommend Punch Bar and Tapas for Spanish tapas, on Westgate.  Alternatively, try Savaro on Church Street for Lebanese food, Blue Tiger in The Forrester’s Arms for Asian fusion food, or The Rusty Bull at Hinchcliffe’s Farm Shop.  All are within walking distance, though you may prefer to take the car to The Rusty Bull, which is located on unlit country roads.

 

Holmfirth also offers a good selection of restaurants which are only a short drive away.  Try Catch Seafood on Woodhead Road for excellent fish, Meze on Huddersfield Road for Greek tapas, Devour at the Dyehouse on Luke Lane, Thongsbridge, for delicious Italian food and pizza or The Huntsman Inn on Greenfield Road for wonderful local cuisine.
